Up and off to Poldark Mine. Not really related to the Books/TV series but they trade off the impression it is related. They have a chaotic museum and you can do a mine tour. We did find some interesting stuff

Found this quite interesting!

More fabulous roads down into Falmouth, really misty and magical

Falmouth is another cute harbour town with narrow lanes and cobbles.

Went to the museum which was excellent, lots of little themed areas.

Massive cider press in the museum. The notches on either end were where wooden bars were inserted to turn the big screws
They also had a display honouring Miracle Theatre’s 40th anniversary. Miracle Theatre is a local theatre group started by Bill Scott who is our D-i-l’s step-dad. Bill writes, directs and for many years acted. They perform in many beautiful Cornwall places. ..castles, ruins, amphitheatres and gardens. Keri (Danni’s Mum) acts in some of the shows as well.

The seagulls here are very large and very noisy

Headed to Keri and Bill’s to stay for a couple of nights. They took us to Gweek for a fish and chip dinner in the park

This is how close vehicles can be on these roads

For our last day in Cornwall we headed to St Michael’s Mount.

When we arrived the tide was on its way in but the causeway was still clear so we walked on out. 4000 bc this was a marshland with a rocky granite mound where people lived. It is thought there may have been a Monastery there from the 8th-11th centuries and there have been buildings on the summit since then. The Mount was sold in 1659 to Colonel John St Aubyn. As of 2019 his descendants, the Lords St Levan, remain seated at St Michael’s Mount. About 30 families live permanently on the island. In WW2 Ribbentrop planned to live on the island when Germany won the war so it was left alone

Winter transport

Walking out

And another fabulous building

Did the same as us. Walked out to Saint Michaels and boat back. Now you have to go to Mont SaInt-Michel in Normandy. Its the twin, got to be done.😁
