Denali

So today we headed back from the Yukon River Camp to Fairbanks and south to Denali. The road followed the top of a ridgeline but unlike NZ there were no lookout spots, such a shame because the vistas on both sides were magnificent. We passed the Skinny Dick Halfway Inn πŸ˜‚ (food and some cabins) and had a fantastic lunch at this little caboose on the side of the road. If you check out the ‘order’ window on the left the guy who served us is there. 2 blokes with long beards..a matching pair. Really nice. Arrived in Denali at 6 pm but no problem as daylight just never ends. We weren’t staying for a tour so drove the public access to Mile 15. Saw a caribou in the distance and 2 rabbits. Once again, spectacular views. My friend Julie fell in love with Japan. ..I can say the same about summer in Alaska. It is beautiful, vast, vibrant, pristine. If you ever have a chance. ..COME!
